Use flickr to share photos of library events, displays, staff, building renovations, historic photos, etc.
Look for photos from other people in your community and comment on them.
Add community members to your contacts list on flickr. Encourage them to add you to their contacts.
Create a flickr photo group for your library or community. Encourage others to join and share their photos. (Once you've set up a group, you'll see a link under every photo's comment box to "invite photo to..." - fast, easy way to invite someone to add a photo to a group photo pool.)
Engage with others on flickr by commenting on their photos and responding to their comments on your photos.
Embed a flickr slideshow on your web site. Select the SlideShow option on your flickr page. get the embed code from the Share link. Copy and paste the code to your web page.
Voicethread
Voicethread lets upload photos to create a slideshow and record audio comments for each image. No editing sofware required, just click record and Voicethread adds your narration to the photos. The slideshow can then be embedded on a web page, blog post, wiki or wherever.
