3: Find Images & other media

Most of the storytelling tools we're going to explore will require some photos. So we'll look for a few photos on services that have photos available with Creative Commons licensing.
NOTE: Check for licensing terms of any photo you download. You'll need to keep track of where you got the photo to give it proper credit.
Searching for photos can take ages, especially if you're preparing an important presentation and are looking for just the right image to convey your message.

- Search for places and ideas and emotions. think of images that might be a metaphor for what you're trying to say.
Image sources and search tools
- PhotoPin - Easy to use tool for searching flickr CC licensed photos. Provides easy to copy attribution information.
- Flickr advanced search - Scroll to the botton of the screen and select the Creative Commons setting & "Find content to modify, adapt, or build upon"
- compfight -Options to select licensing and safe search.
- flick storm - Drop down menu to select the type of CC license to search by.
- flickrCC Blue Mountains - Wonderful interface to explore photos.
- OpenClipArt - Great source of fun, public domain, clip art.
- CC search - search for images, video and music from one search page. Handy!
- Image Appropriate Sites - Google Custom Search tool searches multiple photo sites. Created by Ken Shelton.

Tools for Editing and Creating Graphics & Photos
- Photoshop Express - Web-based photo editor. A very photoshop orientation, lots of true photo editing options.
- Canva - Create graphics and presentation slides. (link is a special invite code)
- PicMonkey - Another terrific and intuitive web-based photo editor.
- Launching lovely little labels - Tools for creating quote graphics, labels for images, word clouds and more.
- Pixlr Express - Free, web-based photo editor. Fun special effects, borders, etc.
- PicSlice - Handy tool for slicing large photos into equal sized pieces.
